Abraxis BioScience has developed Abraxane, the first breakthrough protein-based treatment for tumors. Experts suggest that Abraxane, along with the many other drugs that Abraxis BioScience Inc. holds, will help with the treatment of breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, lung cancer, solid tumors and other critical illnesses.

So how will this benefit cancer patients? Celgene corporation, one of the largest biopharmaceutical companies in the world, will now carry many of the drugs that Abraxis BioScience Inc. has discovered. According to The Wallstreet Journal, “Celgene Corp. (CELG) agreed to acquire Abraxis BioScience Inc. (ABII) for at least $2.9 billion as it expands beyond its core strength in blood-cancer treatments.” This merger will provide many people with Abraxane in the hope of saving lives.
