If you’ve ever browsed inside a boutique in LA, San Francisco or even New York, you know how expensive it can be in those places. You could end up spending your whole paycheck or more just for some trendy outfits or accessories. At the same time, you know how irritating it can get trying to shop at a mall, feeling like you’re being herded around like cattle just to get a bargain price on a generic shirt. At Krush Boutique in the Sacramento Area, owner Shanna Artishuk, believes in providing three main aspects to the shopping experience: quality in clothes, affordability, and amazing customer service. The pricing at Krush Boutique isn’t like other boutiques. There are items of clothing you can buy for under $30 without hurting your wallet, especially with the downturn in the economy. These are just a few of the reasons why Krush Boutique has recently been named by KCRA as one of the top 5 women’s boutique in Sacramento–and all within a year of opening.
Artishuk feels her boutique stands out from others because her employees are trained to be personal with customers as if they were “just girlfriends shopping for an outfit together.” She doesn’t like how corporate clothing companies treat their customers. Instead of having you wait in a long line to try on clothes, Artishuk’s employees personally set up a dressing room for each customer and attend to them like they are the only person in the store.
“Our customers appreciate that we care about their needs, especially when it comes to picking out feel-good clothes for them,” Artishuk said. “After a long day, it’s nice to come into a store, feel relaxed, and complimented.”
A lot of the clothes are from trendy designers like Lush, Solemio, Alythea, and Everly, but what the boutique is noticed for is its jewelry and other accessories. Artishuk likes to find unique items like religious inspired jewelry and big, chunky, colorful necklaces, rings, and bracelets. The boutique also supports local designers who hand-make their items, such as the Tresor jewelry line made by Jenny Higgins from Auburn, California. The line is made from real crystals and sterling silver that can be mixed and matched with charms to create personalized pieces like necklaces. The Trish Derepentigny and Gina Williams’ “Put A Flower on It” line consists of handmade crocheted flowers you can put on your bags, clothes, and in your hair.
“When I pick out inventory for my store, I have to think about my clients,” Artishuk said. “I make sure I have a little bit of everything to fit different styles and body types.” Artishuk likes to buy different pieces for the store that stand out. Recently, she bought jewelry that resemble fun candy shapes and colors and extravagant flower rings that come in vibrant colors like pink and electric blue. “I love buying pieces that are different and standout, yet are wearable in many different ways,” Artishuk said. “People love that!”
