Allow me to introduce myself - I’m Enitan Bereola, II, the author of a contemporary gentlemen & etiquette book for the urban sophisticate. You might be asking yourself, “what the world is an urban sophisticate?” Well, it’s you, it’s me, it’s your client base – it’s anyone with class, taste, morals, goals, anyone who strives to better themselves in every possible way but who is also professional, funky, classic and, of course, fly! My philosophy is making manners sexy and introducing society to the modern day gentleman.

Urbane Perspective Magazine: Who is Enitan Bereola, and why are you qualified to write a book in this genre?
Enitan Bereola:
I am an adjective. I am a child of God who was born during a significant event … by the grace of God I’ve been given the victory … I command honor, I demand respect, I uphold a legacy – moreover, I am a gentleman.I was reared by a classy lady and a distinguished gentleman. I come from a lineage of quality and my mother & father both instilled in me the decencies a man should have. I am qualified because I am the breathing example of what a gentleman is … I am Bereolaesque!

UPM: Explain to the Urbane Perspective reader what is the concept of Bereolaesque?
Bereola:
[BE-RE-O-LA-ESQUE] -adjective
Highly appealing to the human senses or mind; providing pleasure or delight, especially in appearance or manner; pleasing; charming; alluring; attractive
Being Bereolaesque is an enhancing lifestyle.

UPM: Why did you feel the need to compose this book?
Bereola:
Because it’s necessary – the concept of a gentleman has been lost and/or misconstrued. It was important to redefine the gentleman & and bring him up to date. This is a message that must be heard. Thankfully to God is being heard.

UPM: Do you think chivalry has died within just one culture (specifically the African American culture) or also within the Hispanic and Asian culture?
Bereola:
I don’t think chivalry died in any cultures – but I do believe that it has been lost in most. Relax … and fret not – I’m bringing it back … but this time, it’s sexy!

UPM: At what point in your  life did you realize you were an entrepreneur?
Bereola:
I knew entrepreneurship was directly rooted in my family. My grandfather had a successful skateboard manufacturing company as well as an auto laundry car detailing business, my uncle (his son) has a very successful high end furniture design business, my brother had a lucrative and popular clothier company … but me being the original rebel I am, I wanted to take my own path and work the corporate world. It’s far too obvious to say that entrepreneurial destiny caught up to me.

UPM: What has been your toughest lesson to learn during this journey as an author and a businessman?
Bereola:
Everything happens in God’s perfect timing .. God may not be there when you want him, but He is ALWAYS there on time. Thank you Lord for your amazing favor!!!

UPM: How do you measure success?
Bereola:
Success is measured by the accomplishment of one’s personal goals. A man who strives to be the best father & husband to his wife and accomplishes this is as successful as a man who strives to make millions & he does so. A gentleman refrains from becoming too comfortable with his success when/if his mission is incomplete. I just want to be successful!

UPM: What are your plans for the Bereolaesque Lifestyle Brand?
Bereola:
True to definition, Bereolaesque is shaping to be a lifestyle brand that appeals to all of the human senses. You will be able to see, touch, hear, smell, and feel Bereolaesque. Expect products & services that allow such.

UPM: What are your touring plans for the rest of 2009?
Bereola:
I’m currently on a Fall BEREOLAESQUE Book Tour that has me traveling just about every week. I enjoy seeing the faces fans that believe in the movement & are being transformed. The gentleman is successfully making a comeback!

5 different  ways women can apply the Bereolaesque to their daily lives:

  • Consistently increase your standards.
  • Fully realize that a man has nothing to do with a woman’s worth.
